Under 12 Lightning Boys (1996) - Champions of Hangar Christmas Classic

The Markham Boys (1996) team entered two tournaments during the Christmas Break.

They were finalists at the BMO Christmas Tournament, and they were Champions of The Hangar Christmas Classic.

These boys continue to train indoors this winter and are looking forward to the 2008 Outdoor season where they will be playing in the CSL Level 3 Division. - 2 tournaments - 2 finals appearances - 1 Championship. Well done boys! 

Under 16 Markham Lightning Boys Defeat Milton
With newly appointed coach Louie Cacorovski at the helm, Markham Lightning U-16 boys defeated Milton in a hard fought OISL contest. With goals being exchanged by the teams within the first 5 minutes, it was certain to be a game full of excitement. The boys did not disappoint as they used the large playing surface in its entirety scoring goals from all sides, including long assist from goalkeeper Cole Daniels in the 35th minute . Another successful OISL campaign had been waged seeing Markham to a 6-1 win, putting them at 2-1 with a plus 6 goal differential on the season.

Excellent Coaching Leads to Success for 1995 Boys
Successful season just gets better for 1995 Boys and Coach Dino Cramarossa as 6 players are selected to the regional team.  Congratulations to Daniel Cramarossa, Michael Petrasso, Sasha Ricciuit, Chuka Ononye, Andrew DiNatale and Goal Keeper Anthony Lafrate.

The 3-Peat is Complete -- Markham Lightning are 2007 YRSL Cup Champions
On Sunday Aug 26th, the Markham Lightning (1996 boys - U-11 team) completed YRSL Cup Play with a victory in the finals vs the Newmarket Huskies.
After falling behind 1-0 early in the first half the Lightning came back to score 2 goals on their way to a 2-1 final score victory.
This is the 3rd year in a row this dedicated sqaud of Markham Lightning boys have captured the YRSL Cup.

U10 Boys Compete in the "Kickin in the Capital" Tournament
Coached by Perry Galanis, our boys played with heart and determination in the Ottawa Royals "Kickin in the Capital" tournament Aug. 11-12.  After going undefeated in the regular games they beat out Oshawa in the semis to advance to the finals where we played the host Ottawa Royals team, but lost 3-1.  Our boys played tough until the very end and we are very proud of them!  Contributing to this successful team is: Asst. Coach Winston Ayow, Trainer Hessam Ghazanfari, and players Danny Valerio, Roberto Castillo, Brad Ayow, Alexander Crupi, Brandon Chinn, Jason Lew, Braeden Singleton, Connor Whiffen, Walid Nusseiri, Demetrios Galanis, Ali Ghazanfari and Reed Savage. HUA HUA!!
U11 Boys Win Unionville Challenge Cup
The 1996 Markham Lightning boys captured the Unionville Challenge Cup for 2007.
The boys played hard and won the group stage with a perfect record of 3 wins and 0 losses.
They went on to win the semi-final game 5-0 vs Brampton and faced the host Unionville Strikers in the final.
After giving up an early goal (the first and only goal against in the tournament), the Markham boys came back and claimed victory with a final score of 3-1.

Markham Lightning Under 13 Boys
