Markham Soccer Club - All-Star (Hornets)

All-Star Teams

The Markham Soccer Club has Recreational All-Star teams for most of its house league divisions from U7 to U18. An All-Star Team is drawn from players currently registered in the Club’s house league divisions, usually for the purpose of competing in Recreational All-Star tournaments.

The Club’s objectives in running all-star teams are to provide an increased level of competition over that of house league play for some of the more skilled and dedicated players and to help prepare future rep players.

House League All-Star teams fall under the jurisdiction of the Director of Outdoor Youth House League (Jerry Kooymans), who is assisted by an All-Star Convenor (Paul Gardham).

Try-outs for All-Star teams are usually held in the spring, after the competitive (rep) team try-outs, and will be announced on the Club’s web site.

Under 18 Boys

The MSC is putting together an U18 Boys All-Star team. (House League players born 1990 - 1993); to participate in the following 2 tournaments.

- Newmarket 2008 All-star tournament. Saturday/Sunday July 5^th and 6^th; Newmarket. http://www.newmarketsoccer.com/tournaments.html#AllStarTourney

- Unionville 2008 All-star/Select Tournament. Saturday/Sunday August 23^th/24^th, Unionville. http://www.u-msc.com/selecttourney.htm

Cost is approx $60+ per player; with the breakdown as follows: $20 MSC registration fee + $20 per tournament. Participants must be registered in the MSC House-League division.
